Hey all
I was excited to look at my Nike+ after the run today.ย ย Miles went like this; 9.43, 10.08, 10.08, 10.09, 9.00 (woohoo!) and not sure what the last half mile was. I wanted to finish fast and feeling strong (after my race last week where I struggled at the end) so I am feeling very pleased that I managed to go that fast too!
I left work promptly today, so once home in preparation for my run I tried another Mule bar- this one was pina colada with goji berries.
I was going to try a chocolate one, but they both said refuel, whereas this one says fuel and that’s what I needed! ( I am sure they actually have similar nutritional values- will compare at a later date!). Anyway, it was really nice and chewy (down to the rice syrup I suppose) and had loads of bits of coconut in it- yum. I only had half in the end as it was quite big (I am going to credit it with the 9 min mile at the end!!!) and I had the rest when I got home as dinner took ages to cook.
I might make something with the silken tofu later on- might melt in some chocolate or something. Or maybe mix it with some cherries. Or maybe both. I’ll try to remember to take a pic anyway.
I have a busy week at work, as I have parents evenings on two nights, plus all the usual end of half term paperwork etc that needs to be done, but on the plus side next week is half term. Having half termย makes all the late nights and working on a Saturday and Sunday worth it. So, nosy old me is wondering what are the pros and cons of your job? I would not swap mine for another, as I do love it, but it is interesting to hear what others think about their jobs.
Night ๐
Yay for having a fast and strong run! Running’s great, but finishing strong is where the real payoff is. ๐
Hmmm, the pros and cons of my job. Well, I don’t have one..sooo the pro is that there’s free time. The con is the serious lack of money.
I looked and applied to SO many places..they either weren’t hiring or it was too competitive, so I was left without. Then school got busier and busier, so here I am. Jobless.
Nice run! I love those runs when everything seems to fit into place!
Interesting question! My Pros – everyday is different, I love the residents, I feel like I’m making a difference in some people’s lives, I like the early and late shifts as instead of going over the day I have either a morning or afternoon free
Cons – Low pay, days off aren’t alway s the same and shift patterns change.
Well, I’m glad to see I have more on the pro list! I like doing pro and con lists.. and any lists..!
Geeez you need to teach me how to run; I can’t even run a mile but I am slowy training myself by building musclue! Keep it up!
Whitney
Nice run! Don’t credit the mule bar though — that was all you! ๐
Advantages for me: I’m in charge of my own schedule. And I get a mixture of working alone, going to conferences and seminars, and teaching teenagers! Cons: I’m in charge of my own schedule! I have to write 100,000 word thesis!
Interesting pros and cons-Laura and Alison at least your pros lists are longer than the cons!
Whitney- we all started there- if you look at the My Running Journey page it shows you- I started with 1 min walk and 1 min run, repeated for 20 minutes. ๐
Mary-enjoy the free time while you have it ๐
I love the Pina Colada MuleBar, so yummy! Congrats on your great run.
Thanks Jemma- yes it was much yummier than I thought it would be- always a bonus ๐
