Minty tea

Mmmm.

I never thought I would like minty tea. But last time I did a teapigs order it was cheaper to get it in the mixed box, than to buy the other ones separately. So I tried it and actually I find it really refreshing. I am actually thinking that in the summer I might try to make my own (I saw Alys from Gardeners World do it before) as I have all sorts of mint in my garden. But I will have to wait for it to grow. Now I shall make do with teapigs!

And the best thing about minty tea is that if you combine it with some dark chocolate (that stuff is so good and on offer at the moment 🙂 bonus) you get an after eight flavoured snack! Perfect!

After that it was time for aerobics. I have never seen it so busy (must be all those new years resolutions kicking in)! The instructor had to go and tell reception to let more people in, as the class limit was reached and she thought we could up it. We did all fit in, but it was a case of “love thy neighbour”. It was fab, we had some great tunes (not the usual) including some old body pump songs- the girl next to be also goes to body pump so we kept looking at each other and saying stuff like “this was a lunges track”, “we had this for triceps” and so on. I was so tired by the end though- 6 miles on a monday is more than I have usually done so I think that might have been partly why.

Does anyone else with blogs get those monthly stats? I got mine through just now and it is crazy- apparently during January 690 “unique” people looked at my blog- it is strange to think that this many people are interested in what I get up to! I didn’t get any funny searches this month though. I think it is amazing that people spread all over the world get connected via blogs – people from far flung places such as Singapore are visiting. I think it is quite exciting that people are “connecting” from all over the world.

Right, I am off to put my feet up now in preparation for my next 6 mile run tomorrow.

Night 🙂

  1. I went to an aerobics class with a friend from uni.. We stood at the back hoping to keep a low profile then the whole class turned around and we were at the front doing it all wrong! It was hilarious but we didn’t go back!

  2. Mint tea and dark chocolate is one of my favourite things! Especially Montezumos.. I check my stats from time to time. I found out the other day that I’d been linked to by a rowing website: that was cool! 😀

  3. Funny- the BodyPump class I went to on Monday was the busiest ever too! Guess those resolutions are kicking in a little late this year! It was definitely a case of trying to love your neighbour! 😛

Weirdest search term today: “female body builders without clothes”. Ewww!!

  4. Mmm, After Eight tea. I need to try that one! Lindtt 90% chocolate is my weapon of choice, but it is terribly expensive. And I’m not a ‘it’s dark so one square is enough person’ either, so my wallet aches while my tastebuds sing.

I’m on the fence about uber-busy classes…sometimes I just need some ‘personal’ space in terms of exercise and it’s annoying when you can’t perform certain moves properly (such as in Combat when one worries about kicking the person next to you in the face, or even worse them kicking you!) I always associate certain tracks with Pump too, particularly when they come up in spin :).

  5. Laura- you would not like this aerobics class then as in the middle part you all get into lines and the line sometimes move so they are at the back or front of the class (always the same people at the front though).
Alison- very cool to be linked to a rowing website- all those intervals are doing good in more than one way!
Emma- that is a rather creepy search term!
Jessica- I have never tried 90% chocolate- the 73% is the highest that I like- I guess I need the sugary taste more. I like a middle ground with classes- with aerobics it feels more lively with more people and it not so good when there are hardly any people there (some weeks we only have 8 people) whereas with body pump I prefer less as otherwise the equipment runs out. 🙂

  6. I always love the smell of mint tea but found it a bit of a let down in the taste department! I’m not a tea drinker at all though so I guess that is part of the reason. Where are you on the whole green tea thing. I was reading something in Women’s running the other day that suggested that a runner should drink 5 or 6 cups a day to aid recovery. Wonder if it’s really that good?

  7. I love mint tea, but beware if you go to Morocco ….. they sweeten it something terrible, I had to keep asking them not to add sugar to mine 😉

  8. Jemma- maybe gyms reduced their prices to get people to sign up, or people were waiting til payday or something!
Rose- I have not tried green tea. Well I tried it once about 7 years ago and thought it tasted like grass cuttings. So perhaps I should give it another try. You could try loads of things for recovery I suppose.
Gill- how exciting – welcome 🙂
lara- I liked apple tea in Turkey and that was the same- very very sugary.
