WIAW- cake decorating!!

That time of the week already- time to party! Thanks Jenn for hosting.

I chose Saturday as my day, which was super exciting as I went on a cake decorating course.

Breakfast;

Soya yoghurt, rude health muesli, apple from my garden and a fig.

Snack– a small slice of marble cake at the decorating course- they were quite insistent on us eating!

Lunch;

Rye bread with pb, and DCD, and a pear from Andy’s parents garden. Loving the garden produce today.

Snack;

Cocoa mint Lara bar from my blog swap with Errign. It was nice, but I think that our UK nakd bars are better. 🙂

Dinner;

Butternut squash and goats cheese wrap– this time I added chilli flakes when I cooked the squash, and also some spinach to the wrap.

It was super tasty 🙂

Dessert;

One of the cakes I decorated! Can you guess which one I ate?

(They were little fairy cakes just covered in a lot of icing).

I went for…

I did give Andy one of the roses though- super sweet! 🙂 I am going to choose it as my favourite even though I did not really want to eat it- I wanted to just look at it!

Have you ever been to a course like that before?

Also- added on final question- beyond dark have asked for flavour ideas on facebook- I said chocolate mint and peanut butter! Any other ideas?

  1. Girl, you have got some serious decorating skills! I love those cakes!
    Those fresh figs in your breakfast look so tasty, I wish I had access to fresh figs here. Those we import in the Czech Republic always look a bit “off” 🙁

  2. Your cake decorating course sounded like so much fun! I’d love to do something like that 🙂

    Also, your wrap looks so delish… I’m noting down those ingredients as I can sense that meal is going to make an appearance in my kitchen very soon!

  3. Aww, you ate my favourite cake! Joking – it is too pretty to demolish though, although I’m sure I could ‘manage’ to if I really had to 😉

    Looks like such a yummy lunch too 🙂

    I have never been on a course like that but I would absolutely love to – anything arty/creative appeals to me. I wouldn’t want to go alone though – it would be too awkward – and sadly I am a bit of a Billy no-mates!

    1. Do you know my friend came with me this time, but a few people were on their own and I would not hesitate to go alone to something like that next time- so I would say give it a go 🙂
      I was a bit sad when they got eaten (I only had 1!) but I do have the photos to remember it by!

  4. Okay now please tell me. What on earth does a raw fig taste like. I love love them dried, but haven’t been brave enough to try them regular. Enlighten me.
    You’re impressive with those cakes. Make a business!

    1. Thanks 🙂
      I am not sure how to describe fresh figs- they are sort of sweet, but earthy- when you cook them they get sweeter.

    1. Well I think I learned the most basic of basic things, but that is the step up from the splodge of icing/ using cookie cutters for shapes that I was on before!

  5. I love your eats!! That fresh fig is calling my name…I’ve never had a fresh one before, but I really want to now!

    And those cakes are SO PRETTY! That sounds like such a fun course, and you’re clearly very good at it! 🙂

  6. Wow, sounds like a great idea to make new flavours – I’d second peanut butter and maybe caramel or dried fruit, they’d be delicious!
    I love your cupcakes… I’ve never done a course but I made some sugar roses for my goddaughter’s first birthday cake in the summer and was so proud of them!
    That fig looks delicious too, I’ve never had a fresh one but saw some of offer in Asda the other day – might have to give them a go 🙂

  7. Beautiful Cakes….I can see lots of decorated cupcake posts in the future! You didn’t do any ‘running’ ones though! You could make lots, photograph them and create yourself a new blog header!
