That is true.
After the epic post from yesterday, this is a very quick one, as we are going to watch a film. The plan was to watch it last night, after the Grand Prix, but then it rained and we watched it for 5 hours. Yes, 5 hours. It did have an exciting finish (yay Button).
So, after work today, I went on a run. I have been looking at my pace on Nike+ recently and it seems that I pick up speed towards the end, but a good few miles in. Today I decided not to look at my pace, but just the distance whilst running, and go on feeling. Well, the hills felt hard (of course) and I was very hot by the end- very dry mouth and I think I should have taken a drink with me. But, I did the 6.7 ish mile route in 1 hr 12 (last Sunday it took me 1hr20! But that was very slow!)- and when I just looked on Nike+ my miles were so consistent- 10.22, 10.24, 10.23, one at 10.37 (but I think I had about 3 roads to cross in one small section), 10.22 and 10.23. Hooray! So I can run at a constant speed. Now I just need to work on getting that average speed up a bit.
I am still looking at the Audiofuel options, and I think I have chosen a pack, but I wanted to wait another week or so, just so I am not tempted to go out there and hammer out a crazy fast run or something. No, that doesn’t sound like me at all. Maybe it is a different reason.
Oh, and guess what! I got two mentions on the latest marathon talk podcast! You can upload your race times onto facebook and they do a listener one, two, three for each race (girls and boys)- well no other female posted a time for Stockholm, so my very slow time was the winner! Plus a long email I sent about the fab South Cheshire 20 mile race that I did a while back. 🙂 Hooray!
Night
Haha, congrats on more marathon talk fame! And on the consistent pacing too. That’s a really tricky skill to master.
Enjoy the film! 🙂
Would you recommend the Nike plus? I’m considering getting one because i realised my trainers are compatible but i don’t know anyone who’s purchased one. Congratulations on the shout out!
I thought of another thing that I hoard…workout DVDs, even though some of them are so cheesy and terrible that I haven’t used them more than once and probably never will again!
So much to congratulate you on: the run, the double marathon talk! It’s been a good couple of days by the looks of it.
xxx
We just have a massive amount of DVD’s (although that is Andy, not me)- although I do have all the Friends Dvd’s!
HAHA you are so FAMOUS Maria!! That’s so cool!! 😀
And your run sounds GREAT! Get you and your consistent pacing!! Teach me the ways please?! 🙂
Emma , I think just run slow! Well, actually I have no idea because I only realised it was consistent once I got home! 🙂
Yey for being mentioned on marathon talk thats great! I watched F1 too on Sunday, we certainly enjoyed the last hour 🙂
I didn’t watch the F1 on Sunday! I heard that it was a pretty spectacular race though.
That’s really awesome about the podcast!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! =D
I have heard great things about the past F1 race but unfortunately it’s not on TV here, so we didn’t get a chance to see the excitement!! Congrats on the shout out….that’s pretty amazing! I can’t imagine just hearing my name on something like that! 😉
Thanks for your comment, btw. It got lost as spam (don’t be offended! 😉 ) so apologies for tardiness in replying!
I did wonder why it went but that happens to me on here sometimes too. 🙂
Thakns guys- with marathon talk you can rate your run each week and they always read out a few so you never know! 🙂
I haven’t downloaded the last few marathon talks so I’ve got some to catch on! Will definitely do that now as I don’t want to miss you being mentioned again!
Rosexx
Hah ha well they do sort of have a little laugh at my marathon recap and also my rave (it was a long one!)- enjoy!
