Back home!

Hello!

Thanks for all the lovely messages 🙂

The operation went well on Monday- the new consultant was so lovely and managed to do it via keyhole (well, 3 keyholes). I felt pretty ropey yesterday, and had to stay for an extra night in hospital but got to come home today! The consultant did laugh at me when I asked him today when I could start running again- seeing as I am having trouble walking at the moment! Well, the answer is 6 weeks so long as everything heals properly, so I can start to look forward to that.

Anyway, for the next few days it seems I won’t be moving much, but that means I can catch up on what everyone on the net has been doing 🙂

Thanks again

Maria 🙂

  1. I’m so happy you’re okay!

It’s fantastic that you were able to have keyhole surgery too – I have three matching mini-scars too so we must have had exactly the same procedure.

You’ll be back up and running in no time – replace ‘running’ with ‘gym’ (I was a gym rat back then…) and you have the same first question I asked my consultant too…they were actually my first words when I woke up!

    1. Ah I did leave it a day until I asked him! Yes what he did was look in my left ovary to check it was OK, and then somehow through the other holes get the cyst out. I was very impressed because I had been led to believe that the full surgery was most likely- but when I asked him last week (I think I said something like ” it is quite big, can it really come out by keyhole?) he said to me “I have a plan, and a good technique” or something. The only trouble is that one is in my belly button, and they make me feel sick- I can’t stand touching them or looking at them, so not looking forward to taking that bandage off! Ah well, scar twins! 🙂

  2. I’m so pleased it went well Maria! You’ll be coming on in leaps and bounds as soon as you’re off the medication, I’m sure of it 🙂 x

  3. Thanks everyone 🙂 I am feeling better at home. I really asked so that I would not go out running too soon and make things worse, but it did amuse him!
